Rat Lab Tier Lists

Welcome to the Tier List Hub for Rat Lab by Evil Science. Unlike single-ladder mobile RPGs, Rat Lab is a three-role, session-reset sandbox: what is “S tier” for a pure escape run is not what is “S tier” for Mutation Index science or Security lockdown PvP. This hub explains our ranking philosophy, then sends you to the two deep lists: Roles and Tools.

How to read these lists

We rank in a flexible S / A / B / C style:

• S — default best choice for that goal in most public servers.
• A — excellent when you know the matchup or map state.
• B — playable, situational, or requires coordinated help.
• C — weak for that goal, or high effort for low payoff right now.

We do not invent a single god-role that ignores the other team. Lab Rats, Scientists, and Security exist to pressure each other. If a YouTube thumbnail claims one role is always broken forever, cross-check Updates — the game has been actively patching since launch on 30 July 2026.

• Net + taser + baton define Security capture windows.
• Bite defines rat peel / revenge.
• Mutation gun defines scientist tagging.
• Vest / armour / hazmat are “boring S” survivability picks depending on role.
• Sniper and traps are high skill-floor map tools.
• Remember: session unlocks reset each join — a tool’s tier assumes you can access it this session, not forever.

What these lists are not

• Not a Robux shopping list. Forever passes and the Mutation Codes pass (mid-September 2026) can change comfort; they do not auto-grant skill. See Official Links.
• Not a codes list. No working promo codes are confirmed; do not confuse Mutation Index colours with gifts.
• Not an exploit tier list. We do not rank ESP or timer-skip scripts — see Scripts for why you should avoid them.

How often we refresh rankings

After meaningful combat or unlock patches, we revisit both child pages. Check Updates for Forever pass notes, Mutation Codes pass timing, and balance shifts, then return here. If a patch relocates a choke or nerfs nets, Security’s PvP grade can move a full letter in a week.

Use tiers as opinions with criteria — not as excuses to flame teammates who picked “B” for fun. Rat Lab is healthier when people learn all three roles across sessions.
